We would like to wish all our friends, clients, customers and suppliers a very Happy New Year – may 2015 be a good year for everyone!
We are putting the final touches to our displays for Top Drawer where we will be exhibiting next week stand no Y64. We are very excited to be showcasing the products from our latest commission from The Historic Dockyard at Chatham. We worked closely with the team at Chatham to create a range of goods for their retail outlets including calendars, cards, notebooks and tea towels. There are more products planned for launch later this year. The Dockyard is a fascinating place and we were privileged to be able to spend quite a bit of time there while shooting for this collection.

We have almost reached 10,000 views on our blog, and would love to know just who is reading about us. Please leave us a message telling us about yourselves, the reach of the site is amazing and we have visits from South America to Finland.

Last week we popped over the the Savill Garden to have a catch up with our clients at Windsor Great Park. We were finalising details of this year’s calendars for the attraction as well as deciding on new ranges.
It was great to see our latest Windsor products ( bespoke tea towels with typographic designs of the park and gardens ) on display in pride of place in the shop. This new range is selling through so well we are already producing more for delivery asap.
Here are a few shots of some of our merchandise on sale in the Savill Garden shop. We are very proud that all our products are designed and produced in Britain, something which many of our clients appreciate and in fact demand.

We are very excited to be able to announce that we will soon be expanding our range of products. Following on from our popular Words Collection, which was launched way back in 2012, we created the Typeface Collection to include some of our images as well as the graphic fonts. This range featured Wall Art as well as cards. The collection has been so well received we are now adding a new Typeface Occasions Collection as well as producing some tea towels featuring some of the designs. The first tea towel samples are being made at the moment and should be with us by the middle of May. They are all made in the UK and are printed on a lovely soft cotton. Here is a sneak peek…..
Please contact us if you would like to stock these Tea Towels.
We have also produced a bespoke range of Tea Towels for our Windsor Great Park Collection. This has been designed in two different colour ways – a traditional green and a patriotic red white and blue.
Having a creative job is fantastic. The work is varied and stimulating and you are often free to work whenever and wherever you like. BUT, there is one very irritating aspect of this career that seems to occur with increasing frequency – when inspiration strikes, you have to be prepared to go with it, and inspiration often strikes at the most inconvenient times. Take last month for example: we were easing ourselves into the festive spirit, decorating trees, popping a bit of champagne and icing cakes – smug in the knowledge that we were fully organised for the new year and the beginning of the Trade Fair season. Top Drawer starts on January 12th and we had actually managed to sort the new ranges, repaginate the brochure, order samples and sort everything necessary for the exhibition. We were congratulating ourselves that we would not have any last minute panics to contend with as we are now so experienced. Then all of a sudden, wham – a germ of an idea for a new collection popped into our heads. Why not take some of our best images and combine them with some of our typography ranges to create a new collection of cards and wall art. We mocked up a few designs and showed them at a local fair to test the market and we sold out almost immediately – typical! So then Christmas and New Year was spent fine tuning designs and racing to create a whole new line. Well, we did manage a bit of time off for festivities and families, but now we are pedalling fast to get everything finished and ready to show next Sunday. We are looking forward to catching up with all our friends, stockists and suppliers at the show so make sure you drop by and see us on stand C17. Here is a sneak peek at the last minute inspiration!
Here at Dipingo Design we are always trying out new ideas – some we develop into card collections and some we file in our ‘future projects’ drawer. Often we end up creating a design that we would like to use ourselves but can’t find ‘out there’. Our latest product is just such a thing, small but perfectly formed Correspondence Cards.
These are 6″ x 4″ (postcards size) white cards with a small motif on one side – perfect for a quick “thank you” or a simple note. We have created 30 designs initially, using popular Dipingo images, but are planning to add many more to the range in the future. So far in tests these little gems have been enthusiastically received and so we are excited to be taking them to Top Drawer in January. There are 10 cards in each pack with a classic white envelope to match.
Here is an idea of what they look like.
We hope to have the complete collection on the website before the new year. Watch this space….
Every now and then in life an opportunity comes along which has the potential to radically influence your business. A year ago we were commissioned by the team at Windsor Great Park (part of The Crown Estate) to create a range of stationery featuring The Park itself and the famous Savill Garden. Over the last 12 months we have been making regular visits to Berkshire to shoot images of this majestic place across all the different seasons. Tomorrow we officially launch our Windsor Great Park Collection, and in a first for Dipingo, this includes a whole range of products including cards, calendars, notebooks and wall art. This is exciting for a number of reasons; it is an honour to be working for such a prestigious client, adding to our portfolio of commissioned collections which started with Great Dixter, the famous House and Garden in East Sussex. Designing and producing all the different products was a challenge – we needed to capture the park in the depths of winter, the fresh bloom of spring, the full beauty of summer and the rich colours of autumn, and from those images produce 12 “glory shots” for a calendar as well as visually arresting images for use in cards and notebooks. It was hard slog but we are hugely proud of the end result as is our client. We are delighted that our Windsor clients support our philosophy of producing and printing all our products in the UK. Our client has generously agreed that the products can be sold everywhere and not just in their own outlets, so fingers crossed these prove popular with other retailers, not just in the Windsor area but across the country.
I wonder who we will be working for this time next year?
